Card Combat Engine Commercial License (Godot 4)
A downloadable tool
Card Combat Engine is a game-agnostic turn-based card combat engine for Godot 4 / GDScript — FSM, decks, mana, draw, attack/block, damage resolution, deterministic replay, and pluggable AI. The source is free and open under the GNU AGPL v3.0 on GitHub.
This product is the commercial license — not the source code.
You only need it if the AGPL doesn't fit you. The AGPL is copyleft over a network: if you run the engine server-side as part of your product, the AGPL requires you to release your whole product's source. This license removes that obligation.
What you get
- A perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide commercial license for one individual or legal entity.
- The right to use the engine in closed-source projects, including server-authoritative / online multiplayer, without disclosing your source.
- No royalties on games you ship.
- The
LICENSE_COMMERCIAL.mdterms issued for your use.
What you DON'T need this for
If you're building an open-source game and comply with the AGPL, the engine is already free — grab it on GitHub.
What this license does NOT permit
- Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the engine as a standalone plugin.
- Publishing a competing fork.
- Removing copyright/license notices.
📦 The download is the engine source + your commercial license terms. The same code is also public on GitHub under AGPL.
